Light the Night 2014

Light the Night 2014

If you want to get involved in a fantastic local charity event and are free on the evening of Saturday October 4th, we at 1st Security Solutions Ltd encourage you to join our personnel at the “Light the Night” walk in Ecclestall Woods in aid of Weston Park Hospital, starting at 6pm.

Every year, “Light the Night” sees visitors and families come out in support of a great local charity, the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, a facility in Sheffield that carries out internationally recognised research that is at the forefront of current research worldwide. As well as acting as a fund for ground-breaking new treatments, Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity specialises in improving care for patients each and every day and in both of these objectives every penny counts.

As one of only four dedicated cancer hospitals throughout the UK, Weston Park Hospital provides vital treatment and care for communities in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire. By raising awareness of this wonderful cause, “Light the Night” has helped people from all walks of life in some of their darkest moments.

Celebrating the 20th birthday of Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, Light the Night promises to be their biggest walk yet, and is simply not to be missed. Passing through the ancient woodlands of Ecclestall Woods, guests this year can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the 4.5 km route picked out by Rob Haslam, a local walking expert. During their walk, the crowds will be entertained by live music, bands and entertainment from groups based around the area, as well as one or two surprises from the organisers.

Such is the passion and strength of feeling about Weston Park Hospital here at 1st Security Solutions Ltd that the nine stewards we have provided all requested that their wages for the night be donated to the charity, and help contribute towards their magnificent work, and we can only hope that after 20 years Weston Park Hospital can continue for many years to come.

However, it is only through the ongoing support of the local community that the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity can continue to be a success, and whilst last year’s terrific sum raised was over £40000, this year the organisers hope to do even better.
