Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity
The Weston Park Hospital is the only dedicated cancer hospital in the area and one of only four such hospitals in the entire UK. It is equipped with one of the best radiotherapy departments in the country and continues to receive almost 60,000 patient visits every single year.
As well as receiving more than 7,000 new patient referrals every year, the hospital is renowned for its world class facilities and is also at the forefront of cancer research efforts.
Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity is an organisation set up to support the ongoing work of the Hospital and its staff by raising awareness and by raising funds to support three key areas of the hospital’s operation: cancer research, cancer treatment and cancer care.
1st Security Solutions Ltd and Tony Sheppeck personally act as official collectors and fund raisers for the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.
Charitable and Fundraising Efforts
The staff at 1st Security Solutions Ltd engage in a variety of fundraising events throughout the year to raise money and support the work at Weston Park Hospital.
One of the most popular events of the year in Doncaster is the annual “Light the Night” walk, which takes place in Ecclesall Woods in aid of Weston Park. As well as providing Stewarding and Guiding services for the event, it was unanimously agreed that the staff participating would donate their wages for the night, and together with our fundraising efforts at Doncaster Racecourse we were able to contribute £2938 for the 2015 event. We look forward to 2016 with optimism.
Our fundraising efforts were also helped along by our Managing Director Tony Sheppeck, son Ryan Sheppeck and family friend Martin Knowles, who together completed a sponsored Coast to Coast Walk in October 2015. With the help of family, friends and well wishes we were able to raise a further £10,433.42 to present to the staff at Weston Park.
As well as our fundraising efforts on behalf of Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, the staff at 1st Security Solutions Ltd have also been engaged with other projects in the past. This includes providing food and essential aid to refugees at the infamous “Jungle” refugee camp in Calais (please click here for more information).
Gomde UK Tibetan Buddhist Centre
Managing Director Tony Sheppeck is a proud sponsor and member of the Gomde Lindholme Hall, an international centre for the study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism in the UK and a national centre for the development of environmental Buddhism.
