In 2010, 59-year-old ex-serviceman Tony Sheppeck was diagnosed with head and neck cancer and referred to Weston Park Cancer Hospital for a successful course of treatment. Since his recovery, Tony has dedicated his life to fundraising on behalf of Weston Park Cancer Charity along with offering his full support to others who have been diagnosed.
Tony credits his son and step-daughter as being his “absolute rock and support” and through various activities has managed to raise more than £35,000 including a coast to coast walk with his son and a Grand Canyon trek with his step-daughter whilst still in recovery. In addition to fundraising activities, Tony offers free security services through his company 1st Security Solutions for all Weston Park Cancer Charity events at Doncaster Racecourse as well as providing minibuses for the transportation of equipment to all events.
In expression of his gratitude Tony says “I cannot praise the commitment of staff at all levels at Weston Park Cancer Hospital and Charity enough. It is through their sheer dedication and kindness that I am here today – they saved my life”.
On Friday June 5th Tony and his team from 1st Security Solutions will be sporting dazzling purple in support of Weston Park Charity’s Race Evening as he celebrates his tenth cancer free year.
All Weston Park patients are cordially invited to join us at our Annual Race Evening for free at Doncaster Racecourse.
