On the evening of 3rd October 2015, and for the 3rd year in a row, 1st Security Solutions Ltd will be donating stewards and equipment for the “Light the Night” walk in Ecclesall Woods for Weston Park Hospital.

Every year, this event sees a huge volume of people partake in a sponsored 4.5k walk, which aims to raise money for Weston Park to continue their pioneering cancer research, treatment and care. The hospital is one of only four dedicated cancer hospitals in the UK and does an incredible job for communities throughout South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire.

Last years event raised around £35,000 and they are hoping to raise even more this year with Jessica Ennis-Hill making a special guest appearance.

Weston Park Hospital is very close to our hearts here at 1st Security Solutions Ltd and last year many of our employees requested their wages for the night to be donated to the charity. This year, they have done the same.

For more information, head over to Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity where you can read about the great work the charity is doing and get involved yourself.

Our passion for this charity is well known and we regularly try to support them whenever we can. Our most recent endeavour was a bucket collection at Doncaster Racecourse at their biggest event of the year, St. Leger Day, on 12th September 2015. After hours of generous giving, the total collected was a staggering £2938. We’d like to thank Doncaster Racecourse for allowing us on site, all those who donated and of course, those who gave up their time to raise the money.

This event is part of fundraising efforts by one of our own, Ryan Sheppeck, in conjunction with a Coast to Coast walk he is doing from 5th October. To hear more about his story and why Weston Park Hospital is so important to ourselves, head over to his JustGiving page. We ask if anyone would like to donate to this cause then please do it through the JustGiving page. If you are a UK taxpayer then please GiftAid as your donation is worth even more.

Thank you
